2024 will be Coach Kilburg’s first season with the Iowa City West High Girls Track & Field program. Prior to joining the ICWTF coaching staff, she ran for four years at Loras College under Coach Matthew Jones, a four-time USTFCCCA National Coach of the Year. Kilburg brings experience in sprint relays and 400m-hurdle events, finishing her career at Loras with multiple indoor and outdoor All-Conference finishes, 4x IIAC and USTFCCCA All-Academic team, 2016 NCAA DIII National Qualifier in 4x400 relay, entering as the national six-seed, 3x Drake Relays qualifier, and a member of the 4x400 school record-holding relay (2016-2018). Kilburg also has two years of volunteer coaching experience with the MERGE Performance Institute youth track & field club based in Dubuque, IA. She is passionate about putting her knowledge and love for track & field towards helping young women find confidence, friendships, joy, and meaning through the sport.
Coach Kilburg works for the City of Iowa City as the Economic Development & Public Art Coordinator and serves on numerous community boards and committees. She continues to support her alma matter schools; having launched a Student Scholarship & Teacher Award program at Bellevue High School alongside her brother (a fellow IHSAA coach in western Iowa) and regularly committing time as a student mentor and guest speaker in classrooms at Loras College and the University of Iowa.
In her free time, Kilburg enjoys traveling with her husband and doing anything that involves being active and being outside.
